June Community Meeting Recap
Thanks to all the neighbors who attended the community meeting tonight! If you weren't able to attend, here are the meeting minutes and here is the slide deck.
Here are a few key items we discussed at the meeting:
Thanks to the incredible neighbors who came out and spoke at the City of Houston's District C Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and redistricting meeting last month. We had an amazing showing and made our case well! More opportunities to come soon - we'll keep you posted.
We recently attended the H-GAC public meeting to input on the Regional Transportation Plan for the Greater Houston and Galveston region. We strongly opposed the inclusion of TxDOT's Managed Lanes Project because it's bad for our neighborhood in so many ways. NPR ran a story including our concern as a result!
We are considering a Citizen Patrol for the neighborhood - watch for a survey soon to let us know if you support this initiative
Thanks to TIRZ 5 for doing a great job completing an extension of the Heights Hike and Bike Trail into our neighborhood! We will continue to advocate for safer streets for our residents - walkers, bikers, and drivers.
The Community Cleanup was extremely successful last month, and we'll have more in the fall when it gets cooler. Please join us!
Ditch of the Month is a fun, ongoing program throughout the summer in our neighborhood to highlight the need for ditches that are well maintained and free of trash. It's our responsibility to do this and help protect our neighborhood from flooding.
We'll take a break for a couple months in the summer, and we'll see you back around when school starts. Until then, please consider joining the Civic Association! You'll get a great newsletter filled with neighborhood news and important information.
